William Benjamin Dies at Hospital; Services Thursday

William Benjamin, Sr. of 420 North 6th Ave. East, a long time resident of the Newton community died at 3 p.m. Monday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Johnson funeral services.

The Rev. Philip Biblehier, pastor of the First Luthern church will conduct the services. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Mr. Benjamin is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Cresse) Copenhaver of Laurel; a son William Benjamin, Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; and six grandchildren. Mrs. Paul (Sylviana) Chapman of Newton, Linda, Bill, Bonnie, Kathy, and David Benjamin of Phoenix, Arizona.

Educated in Jasper County schools, he spent his entire life in Newton with the exception of five months with his son in Phoenix. Mr. Benjamin was a plumer
