Dorothy E. Runyan died December 20, 2005 at the Carlisle Care Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday December 23, 2005 at the Bondurant Christian Church. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to the services.

Dorothy was born to "Shorty" (Clarence Michael) and "Jennie" (Lamb) Clark on April 23, 1907 in Colfax, Iowa. She married Raymond Runyan, October 10, 1927 in Minburn. Together they owned and operated the Bondurant Hardware for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Bondurant Christian Church, where she was the organist for 25 years. Other memberships included the Bondurant American Ladies Auxiliary and the O.E.S. chapter at King David Masonic Lodge, Altoona.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Raymond after 78 years of marriage and her children, Mike (Joan) Runyan of Albia and Marianne (Dean) Barrett of Bondurant. She also leaves a brother, Bob (Rose) Clark, 4 grandchildren, Brad Barrett, Lisa Dillivou, Michael Runyan II, and Stacie Gibler; 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald at infancy and another brother, Bill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
