COLFAX -- Robert N. Scott, 79, of Colfax died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville.

A funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax with burial at Colfax Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Colfax.

The son of Sewell Andrew and Betsy (Warnberg) Scott, he was born May 17, 1926, in Duluth, Minn. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He attended the Youth Administration Program in Clinton, where he was trained as a machinist and worked at Stero in Petaluma, Calif., for 35 years. He moved to Colfax in 1988.

Mr. Scott was active in the First Baptist Church in Colfax and was a 50-year member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Peterson of Minneapolis, Minn.; a special friend, Mieko Williams of Colfax and her children, Mary and Dr. Donal Hill, Willow and Steve Patterson and Carol and Tony Borts; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers and sisters.
