LYNNVILLE -- Elinor Rozendaal, 83, of Lynnville died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A funeral service was today at First Reformed Church in Sully. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully handled arrangements.

Memorials will be accepted to Words of Hope and American Missionary Fellowship.

The daughter of Fred C. and Ella (Shutts) Hunziker, she was born in LaBelle, Mo., on Nov. 1, 1922. On Feb. 25, 1947, she married Wilbur Rozendaal in Sully. The family farmed in the Lynnville area. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Sully and was a member of Lynnville and Grinnell Saddle clubs. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching birds and spending time with her family. She lived in Prairie City and Sully prior to moving to Lynnville in 1968.

Survivors include four sons, Peter C. Rozendaal, Karl Rozendaal and Richard Rozendaal, all of Pella, and William A. Rozendaal of Grinnell; four daughters, Ellen Ann Rozendaal of Lynnville, Mary Evans of Panama City Beach, Fla., Jane Van Wyk of Pella and Ruth Van Roekel of Des Moines; 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest Hunziker of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Martha Rankin and Elizabeth Stoddard; a brother, Robert Hunziker; and a sister, Anna Martig.

Elinor Rozendaal, daughter of Fred C. and Ella (Shutts) Hunziker, was born in La Belle, Missouri on November 1, 1922. She died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 29, 2006, at the age of eighty-three years, seven months and twenty-eight days. Elinor had lived in Prairie City and Sully prior to moving to Lynnville in 1968.
On February 25, 1947, she married Wilbur Rozendaal in Sully. Ten children were born to this union. The family farmed in the Lynnville area.

Elinor was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sully. She was also a member of the Lynnville and Grinnell Saddle Clubs. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching birds and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four sons; Peter C. Rozendaal of Pella, William A. Rozendaal of Grinnell, Karl Rozendaal of Pella, and Richard Rozendaal of Pella; four daughters, Ellen Ann Rozendaal of Lynnville, Mary Evans of Panama City Beach, Florida, Jane Van Wyk of Pella, and Ruth Van Roekel of Des Moines; twenty-eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and a brother, Ernest Hunziker of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Martha Rankin and Elizabeth Stoddard; a brother, Robert Hunziker and a sister, Anna Martig.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
