KELLOGG -- Michael K. Mulford, 52, of Rock Creek Lake in rural Kellogg died on Monday, April 24, 2006, at his home.

No services are planned. Memorials in his name may be directed to the Kellogg Historical Society. Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell is handling arrangements.

The son of Robert and June (Veber) Mulford, he was born April 18, 1954, in Grinnell. He was raised in the Grinnell area and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1972. He received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from the University of Iowa in 1975 and a graduate degree in international management from the American Graduate School of International Management, Thunderbird Campus, in Glendale, Ariz., in 1976. He also received a master of business administration from the University of Miami Graduate School of Business Administration in Coral Gables, Fla., in 1977. He received a master of public administration degree from Drake University Graduate School of Business and Public Administration in 1978. He then received a juris doctorate law degree from Drake University School of Law in 1979. Finally, he received a master of law degree. M in International Law from the University of Miami Graduate School of Law in Coral Gables, Fla. He was a member of the Iowa and Florida bar associations.

Mr. Mulford worked as a political consultant in the U.S. Congressional, U.S. Senate and foreign political campaigns. He formed the International Law firm of Mulford and Lindo, which has offices in the United States, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America and Africa. He worked overseas as an international lawyer for 13 years. He worked as a professor in the United States and overseas. He was a member of the Republican Party and the Sons of the American Revolution.

Survivors include one son, Jarod Mulford of Blackburg, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
