Vivian Joy (Emmack) Machin, 85, of Newton died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Gary Marzolf of First United Methodist Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in rural Newton.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of Jasper County. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of L.T. and Mary (Giles) Clark, she was born July 26, 1921, in Prairie City. She graduated from Prairie City High School in Prairie City.

On July 30, 1939, she married Delmar G. "Bud" Emmack in Bethany, Mo. He died in 1983. On Feb. 7, 1989, she married Walter A. Machin in Houston, Mo. She was a homemaker and a farm wife and a member of her coffee club at Midtown Café in Newton. She enjoyed traveling, flowers, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and having coffee with friends.

Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Delmar L. and Mary Emmack of Colfax; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-sons and daughters-in-law, Richard "Dick" and Darlene Machin and Lloyd and Diane Machin, all of Newton, and Dennis Machin of Kellogg; two step-daughters and a son-in-law, Marie Hoffman of Newton and Lucinda and Tom Hollingshead of Ogden; 14 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and a brother, Vernon Clark.
