Newton (IA) Daily News, date unknown

Mr. Chas Ross and his family, who live 2 ˝ miles southeast of Reasnor, were grief-stricken when they arose alt Saturday morning, June 5th, between 5 and 6 o’clock, and found that the beloved wife and mother had quietly and peacefully passed away – evidently but a few moments before the terrible fact was discovered.

Mrs. Ross had been an invalid from heart trouble for several years, and for a fortnight or more confined to her bed; but the husband and children never dreamed that the dear one was so soon to leave them.

Mrs. Ross’ age was about 60 years and she and her husband had lived on the same farm from the time of their marriage. They have been the parents of eleven children, seven of whom are living, to comfort the father in this terrible affliction which falls so heavily upon him and them.

The children are, Bert near Altoona, Frank in Reasnor, Zell on a farm near town, and Harry, Robert, Edith and Ruth at home.

Mrs. Ross was a splendid Christian wife and mother, and her sudden death cast a shadow of sorrow throughout the community where she was so well known and highly esteemed.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Chapel at 11 o’clock Monday morning, conducted by Rev. Fitzsimmons, pastor of the Reasnor M. E. church. The pallbearers were Messrs. Fred Rohrdanz, Marion Butin, Earl Wilson, H. Prindle, John DeGoey, and Samuel Butin. Interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery.
