COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Norma Lee (Elliott) Bland, 84, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Newton, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, in Colorado Springs.

A funeral service was in Colorado Springs.

She was born June 28, 1922, in Newton, where she grew up in Newton and attended school. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1945. In 1949, she married Don Bland.

She was a charter member of Colorado Springs chapter of The Assistance League and was active both locally and nationally. She was an active member of Chapter Y of the Colorado Springs P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Bland Harrington and Birkley Elliott Bland, both of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Helen Schneider of New Haven, Mass., and Frances Prugh of Kettering, Ohio; and a brother, Ray Elliott of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
