SULLY -- Lucille E. Beyer, 83, of Sully died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Brighton Gardens of Greenville in Greenville, S.C.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Sully. Private family burial will be in Sully Cemetery. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Alzheimer Association or Blood Bank of Iowa.

The daughter of James and Ella DeBruyn, she was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Sully. On April 19, 1941, she married Paul Beyer in Missouri. The family farmed north of Sully for 33 years prior to moving to Sully. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Sully, where she served on several committees and volunteered for many projects sponsored by the church. She was an active member of Martha Circle and Farm Bureau. She enjoyed sewing, walking and baking. In 1997, she moved to Greenville, S.C.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Beyer of Grinnell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Donald Orthner of Greenville, S.C., Betty and David Hunt of Prescott, Ariz., and Linda Beyer of Truckee, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Tudi Ashby of Newton; and three brothers, Elmer DeBruyn of Newton, Jerry Wilcox of Missouri and Johnny Wilcox of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Hazel Wilcox; and a brother, Lawrence DeBruyn.
