PELLA -- Jennie Jansen Fopma, 88 of Pella, former longtime Jasper County resident, died Sunday morning, Jan. 14, at the Pella Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sully Christian Reformed Church.

Dr. Joseph Brinks, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Sully Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.

Memorials to the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are two sons, Charles and Donald R., both of Pella; two daughters, Grace J. (Mrs. Harold) Beyer of Sully and Sylvia (Mrs. Henry) Nieuwsma of Pella; 17 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Henry D. Jansen of Sully; and two sisters, Dora (Mrs. Roy) Van Wyk and Alberta (Mrs. Kryn) Struik, both of Sully.

Mrs. Fopma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Simon Fopma Jan 5, 1962, a son, Bernie, May 9, 1987, an infant granddaughter, a great-grandson, two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Fopma was a member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church and the Lydia Society of the church.

The daughter of Dirk and Gysbertha Bruxvoort Jansen, she was born Aug. 19, 1901 near Killduff and, with her parents, moved north of Sully at the age of 10, where she attended country schools.

She was married to Simon Fopma Aug. 20, 1920 and they farmed north of Kellogg, north of Lynnville and south of Galesburg.
