BAXTER -- Wanda N. Schmidt Ellis, 82, a former resident of Baxter and Rhodes, died Monday, Dec. 24, at the Marshall County Care Facility in Marshalltown.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

The Rev. Beverlee Bell, pastor of the Melbourne United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Survivors are a son, Robert of Marshalltown, two daughters, Marjorie Morrison of Marshalltown and Karen J. Johnson of Gainesville, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grand child.

Also surviving are two brothers, John Schmidt of El Segundo, Calif., and Howard Schmidt of Anaheim, Calif., and a sister, Betty Butler of New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Theodore R. Ellis in 1962, two brothers and a sister.

The daughter of Conrad and Josephine Scott Schmidt, she was born May 28, 1908 in Baxter.

She was married to Theodore R. Ellis Sept. 5, 1928 in Baxter.
