Dale D. Ebert

KELLOGG -- Dale Darwin Ebert, 60, a resident of the Kellogg area for 30 years and a former resident of the Newton community, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, while hunting on his farm.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Reese Funeral Chapel in Newton.

The Rev. Robert Waters, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kellogg, will conduct services. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Survivors are his wife, Marcia; two sons, Danny and Delwin, both of Kellogg; two daughters, Darla (Mrs. Larry) Stevens of Denver, Colo., and Dana (Mrs. Michael) Hasselbrink of Grinnell; four grandchildren; and a sister, Avis Boot of Crawfordsville, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clarence.

Mr. Ebert, an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

He had farmed and been employed by De Kalb Seed Co. for more than 30 years.

The son of Herman and Lula Bollhoefer Ebert, he was barn Dec. 25, 1929 at his parents farm north of Newton.

He was married to Marcia Morris Sept. 15, 1956 at Little Brown Church in Nashua.
