Delmar N. Evans

Delmar Norman Evans, 59, of 1101 E. 10th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1950, died Sunday, Oct. 21, at his home of a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Independent Order of Odd Fellow Cemetery in Searsboro.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors are two brothers, George L. of Newton and James L. of Montezuma; and a sister, Leona (Mrs. Kenneth) Beaderstadt of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Evans, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge in Searsboro and the United Auto Workers, Local 997, Retirees Union, had worked for the Maytag Co. for 36 years prior to his retirement in 1986.

The son of Leo F. “Buck” and Mabel N. Larsen Evans, he was born Aug. 11, 1931 in Searsboro and was a 1950 graduate of Searsboro High School
