MARSHALLTOWN -- Howard H. Evans of the Marshall Care Facility in Marshalltown, a former longtime farmer east of Collins, died Wednesday morning, June 13, at the facility.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Collins.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown.

Memorials to World Vision may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Alice; a son, Jerome of Wilmar, Minn.; three daughters, Linda Mullikin of Hedrick, Marian Pickema of Roland and Ann Titus of Colo.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Wayne of Collins.

Mr. Evans, who retired in 1983, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown.

The son of Leonard and Ordema Dodd Evans, he was born March 24, 1918 in Collins and was educated in Collins schools.

He was married to Alice Breer on July 3, 1939 in Princeton, Mo.

Howard Evan Services Held

Howard H. Evans, 72, formerly of Collins, died Wednesday, June 13, at the Marshall Co. Care Facility of natural causes.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Dalton officiating. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. Memorials may be directed to the World Vision.

Mr. Evans was born March 24, 1918 in Collins, the son of Lenard and Ordema Dodd Evans.

He was married to Alice Breer on July 3, 1939 in Princeton, Mo., and she survives.

Also surviving are four children, Linda Millikin, Hedrick, Ia.; Jerome “Jim” Evans; Wilmar, Minn.; Marian Pickema, Roland, and Ann Titus of Colo.; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a brother, Wayne Evans of Collins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.

Reared and educated in Collins, he graduated from high school there and lived most of his life on a farm east of Collins. He was a lifelong Angus breeder and farmer. He retired in 1983.

Mr. Evans was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown.
