Services Today for Lois Damman

Lois V. Ward Damman, 67, died at her home at 3291 Hart Ave., Melbourne, Monday, July 9, 1990. Services will be held today (Thursday, July 12) at 2:00 p.m., at the St. John’s United Church of Christ, where she was a member.

The Rev. Fritz Bogar will conduct services. Interment will be in the Melbourne Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Steve Zahnd, Earl Pothast, David Wulke, Duane Damman, Joel Pfantz, and Jeff Damman.

Honorary pallbearers are Richard Hurlbut, Tom Smith, David Ward, Leo Klaas, and Vernon Waterman.

Lois Virginia Ward was born May 19, 1923 in Melbourne, the daughter of Charles and Jennie Hannah Ward. She was a graduate of Albion High School with the class of 1940 and was a lifelong resident of Marshall County. She was married to Eugene E. Damman of Melbourne on Feb. 14, 1947. They made their home on the family farm. Lois was active in church and volunteer work and will be remembered for her work with youth in 4-H and Sunday School.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene; a daughter and son-in-law, William and Kathy Large of Melbourne; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Lori Damman of Forest City, Edwin and Cathy Damman of Melbourne; six grandchildren, Jacy, Jenica and Jara Large, Julie, Joel and Brian Damman. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jean Hurlbut of Garwin and Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Colo.; one brother, William Ward of Nevada; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
