Funeral services for Marion L. Dew, 59, of 724 W. 4th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1938, were held this morning, June 18, at the Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

He died Thursday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of complications from injuries received in a fire at his home.

Memorials to the Church of the Nazarene will be accepted.

Survivors are his parents, Floyd and Helen Brue of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Mr. Dew, a well-known checker player, attended the Church of the Nazarene.

He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Earlham.
