GRINNELL, IA. -- Glenn L. Dexter of Grinnell died of cancer Thursday at Grinnell General Hospital. He was 81. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home, with burial at Chester Cemetery north of Grinnell.

Born near Montezuma, he lived in Poweshiek County most of his life and retired after farming for 45 years. He was a member of the Oak Grove and Sonora granges and a 50-year member of the national grange.

Among survivors are two daughters, Carol Herington of Bettendorf and Janet Ryan of Brooklyn; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Park or St. Francis Manor.
