Bessie Renaud Dewey

SULLY -- Bessie Mol Renaud Dewey, 94, of Sully, a longtime resident, died Saturday, Sept. 29, at Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sully Community Church.

The Rev. Ralph Menning, retired Pella pastor, will conduct services and burial will be in Sully Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Sully Garden Chapel Funeral Home.

Memorials to the Sully Community Church may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Robert L. Renaud of Grinnell; two daughters, Bernice (Mrs. Claire Butin of Monroe and Jean Morris of New Sharon; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a daughter, Joyce Mae Versteegh, two brothers, Henry Mol, Jr., and Jacob Mol, and three sisters, Dora Hudson, Jennie De Zwarte and Ella De Jong.

Mrs. Dewey was employed at Midwest Manufacturing Co. in Kellogg from 1941 until 1952.

The daughter of Henry and Jane Goemaat Mol Sr., she was born May 23, 2986, near Taintor in Mahaska County and grew up and was educated in the Taintor area.

She was married to Victor B. Renaud March 18, 1915 in the family home and after his death Nov. 27, 1927, to Eugene Dewey Oct. 18, 1952 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She had resided in the Sully area since the time of her first marriage.
