Shelda I. Dimon

Shelda Irene Vestal Dimon, 73, of 503 E. 4th St. N., a resident of Newton most of her life, died of cancer Wednesday, March 14, at the Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Reese Chapel.

The Rev. Raymond Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the First Christian Church may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Frederick of Newton; two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Jim) Herrington of Pinckney, Mich., and Barbara (Mrs. Larry) Trotter of Newton; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, LeRoy, a sister and a grandson.

Mrs. Dimon was a member of the Newton First Christian Church.

The daughter of Fred and Bessie Hurley Vestal, she was born March 22, 1916 in Worthington, Minn.

She was a graduate of Newton Community High School.

She was married to LeRoy Dimon.
