Olive Davis
Olive Raridon Davis, 91, of Nelson Manor Care Center, died Sunday, July 22, at the Center.
Graveside rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Newton Union Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 t0 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.
Memorials in her name may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are four sons, Dean of Elkhart, Ind., and Jack, Bud and Tom, all of Newton; three daughters, Darlene (Mrs. Leo) Agard, Marilyn (Mrs. William T.) Waddell, and Marjorie Fisher, all of Newton; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence, April 8, 1937, a son, Bill, a grandson, Bill Waddell, Jr., two great-grandsons, Jeremy Waddell and William Waddell III, four brothers, Sam, George, Wesley and Ray Raridon; and three sisters, Ida Harbour, Ada Long and Cecile Hatfield.
Mrs. Davis, a homemaker and housekeeper for many Newton families, was a member of the Methodist Church at Yale.
The daughter of Finley W. and Sarah Stillings Raridon, she was born May 14, 1899 at Yale.
She was married to Clarence Davis Jan. 17, 1917 at Yale.
She had resided in Newton since 1922.
