RHODES -- Funeral services for Betty Pyle Crawford, 51, of Rhodes, a lifelong resident of the Rhodes and Baxter areas, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Baxter Evangelical Free Church.

The Rev. Eugene Bucklin, pastor of the church, will conduct services and burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

Memorials to the church may be left at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crawford died Wednesday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Survivors are her husband, John; a son, Tim of Marshalltown; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Crawford of Gainsville, Texas; two grandchildren; and a brother, Howard Pyle of Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Crawford had been a Baxter Community School District school bus driver for the past 14 years.

She was a member of the Baxter Evangelical Free Church.

The daughter of Glen and Mable Huffaker Pyle, she was born March 26, 1938 in Marshalltown. She was raised and educated in Marshall County and attended Baxter schools.

She had been a resident of Rhodes the last 14 years.

She was marred to John Crawford Nov. 18, 1956 in Baxter.
