DES MOINES -- Bernard H. Creech, 61, of 2109 E. 21st St., Des Moines, a former resident of Newton, died Wednesday, March 14, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines.
The Rev. Robert Culbertson, pastor of the Dallas Center United Methodist Church, will conduct services.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
Memorials to the church may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Diana Creech of Des Moines; two grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil of Elmwood, Ill., and James Carl of Grand Island, Neb.; a sister, Phyllis Jones of Sallisaw, Okla.; and his mother, Gertrude Creech of Sallisaw.
Mr. Creech, an Army veteran of the Korean War, was a member of the Polk County Democratic Central Committee.
He was employed by General Electric of Des Moines as a service technician.
The son of James and Gertrude Glasgow Creech, he was born Feb. 13, 1929 in Eddyville.
He resided in Newton until moving to Des Moines in 1968.
