DES MOINES -- Ray J. Coy, 89, a former resident of Prairie City, who had been residing in the home of his daughter in Des Moines for the past four years, died Sunday, April 22, in her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.
Father Anthony Allieo, pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee, will conduct services. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors are a son, Donald R. of Boulder City, Nev.; a daughter, Noreen (Mrs. William) Randa of Des Moines; four grandchildren; 10great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hazel, and a brother.
Mr. Coy, a farmer, was a member of the Prairie City Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge.
He was a former employee of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee.
The son of Ira and Clara Johnson Coy, he was born June 7, 1900 at Saylorville.
He was married to Hazel Calvert Jan. 24, 1920 in Valley Junction (West Des Moines).
