PRAIRIE CITY -- Beryle W. Conley, 81, a lifelong resident of Prairie City, died Tuesday, March 6, at the Des Moines General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

The Rev. Jerry Mc Gee, pastor of the Monroe United Methodist Church will conduct services. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.

Public Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Ardis; a stepson, Nick Peters of Denver, Colo.; and a step-daughter, Sandra Clippinger of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife, Verda, in 1985.

Mr. Conley, a Navy veteran of World War II, had taught in Prairie City and Dallas schools, had been principal in the De Witt schools and was head of the mathematics and science departments at Davenport Central at the time of his retirement.

The son of Percy and Blanche Warner Conley, he was born Nov. 18, 1908 in Prairie City.

He was married to Verda Pumphrey June 10, 1984 in Batavia and to Ardis Beaver, June 8, 1986 in Altoona.
