MONROE -- Funeral services for Clifford Wayne Colyn, 74, a longtime resident of Monroe, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Monroe Presbyterian Church.

Dr. Thomas N. Bass, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorials to the Presbyterian Church will be accepted.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is handling arrangements.

He died Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital.

Survivors are his wife, Helen; a son, Bill of Baxter; a daughter, Shirley La Pour of Monroe; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glen, of Pleasant Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a son, Don.

The son of Clarence and Roxie Wicker Colyn, he was born Feb. 26, 1916 in Polk County.

He was married to Helen Shannon April 18, 1937 in Des Moines.

Mr. Colyn farmed in the Monroe area most of his life.
