DAVENPORT -- Edna Popofsky Cohn, 87, a resident of Ridgecrest Village in Davenport, died Wednesday, May 2, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport.
Mrs. Cohn, a longtime resident of Newton, operated Leonards Ladies Wear in Newton for many years, retiring in 1965.
Graveside rites will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Waterloo Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo.
Rabbi Sol Serber of Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Waterloo will conduct services.
Memorials to the Jasper County Historical Society Museum will be accepted.
Survivors are two sons, Robert of Newton and Leonard of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Joyce (Mrs. Jerry) Koufer of Bettendorf, nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a bother, David Tope of Ridgecrest Village in Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Eli, Sept. 28, 1958.
Mrs. Cohn was a member of the Newton chapter of Soroptimists International, Jasper County Historical Society and the Newton Community Theatre.
The daughter of Samuel and Rosa Friedman Popofsky, she was born Sept. 20, 1902 in What Cheer.
She was married to Eli Cohn July 5, 1927 in Oskaloosa.
