GRINNELL -- Dale W. Clark, 74, of Grinnell, a former Jasper County resident, died Wednesday, March 7, at his home after suffering a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. Raymond C. Lott, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, will conduct services and burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in Jasper County.

Family visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife Ruthe; and three brothers, Vernon of Rochester, Minn., Bob of Denver, Colo., and Bill of West Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth Bell and Betty Clark, and a brother, Ray.

Mr. Clark was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge and former member of the Grinnell American Legion.

A retired school bus driver, he was born March 15, 1915 in Poweshiek County, the son of Taylor and Amelia Schultz Clark.

He was a 1934 graduate of Newburg Community High School.

He was married to Ruthe Wilson May 15, 1940 in Marshalltown.

Mr. Clark served in the Navy during World War II, returning to Grinnell in 1946 following his separation from the service.
