PELLA -- Grace Aalbers Cade, 84, of Pella, a former resident of the Otley community, died Sunday, Jan. 14, at Sunrise Terrace in Winfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home.

The Rev. Norman Schoulten, pastor of the Pella Second Reformed Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Family visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials to Hilltop may be left at the funeral home.

She was married to Elton Cade and they had resided in Pella since 1948.

Survivors are a son, Junior, of Pella; two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Hughey) Byers of Newton and Irene Koger of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Wayne, two sisters, Cornelia and Minnie, and 10 brothers, Gerrit, Gysbert, Jake, Marinus, Bill, Dan, Tone, Henry and two in infancy.

Mrs. Cade was a member of the Otley Reformed Church.

The daughter of Marinus and Hattie Hols Aalbers, she was born Dec. 27, 1905 in Fifield in Marion County and grew up and attended schools in the Otley area.

Mrs. Cade retired as head cook at the Pella Community Hospital.
