Funeral Services Held Tuesday For William Ebert
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Langdon Tuesday at 2 p.m. for William Herman Ebert, 88, long-time resident of Manilla township, who died at a Langdon hospital Saturday, September 19, 1959. He had been ill for two weeks and hospitalized for two days.
Rev. Doyle A. Buss officiated at the services. Burial was made in Lebanon cemetery at Langdon.
Pallbearers were Ralph Hawken, John Zarn, Raymond Soderstrom, Bert Evans, Elden McDaniel and Walter Myers.
William Herman Ebert was born January 24, 1871, in Newton, Ia. He was the son of Mr. And Mrs. William Ebert. William Ebert was married May 10, 1895, to Anna Koppin in Newton, Ia.
They lived in Newton until 1905, when they moved to Manilla township near Langdon where they have since made their home. Mr. Ebert was preceded in death by his wife who died May 14, 1942.
Mr. Ebert was engaged in farming operations for more than 50 years, having retired about 15 years ago. A son, Arthur, farms the place where his father settled in 1905.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur W. and Roy A., both of Langdon, and two daughters, Dorothy M. of Langdon and Gertrude L. of Everett, Wash.
