A GOOD MAN REMEMBERED. - The death of Price Parcells, in Cal., March 4th, calls for more than a mere obituary notice. Mr. Parcells was for a long time a resident of this city and is very pleasantly remembered by his numerous friends and acquaintances here as an eminently good man, a character in every respect above reproach, an obliging neighbor, a kind husband and father, an upright citizen, ever maintaining a conscientious regard for the rights of all with whom he had dealings, a devoted christian, having only kind wishes and kind words for all, he was one of those rare men of whom it might be said it was impossible for him to make an enemy. Mr. Parcells was a great student of the Bible. He could repeat from memory chapters and whole books of the sacred volume. During the last eight or ten years of his life, almost his only library was the Bible and Baxter's Saints Rest. In his 88th year it was imply a privilege to him to enter into his rest. His worth companion [is] also affectionately remembered in this community. ~ The Newton Journal, Wednesday, April 5, 1893.
