DES MOINES — Sarah Ann Simons Judy, 100, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Assembly of God in Newton. The Rev. Jeff Arp of Newton First Assembly of God and the Rev. Allan Ullestad of New Hope Assembly of God in Urbandale will be officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 3 to 5 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be made to Newton First Assembly of God.

The daughter of Henry Vander Werf and Henrietta Ver Heul, she was born March 11, 1906, in rural Otley. She married Benjamin Simons Nov. 4, 1924. He preceded her in death in 1977. She later married Cecil Judy in 1984. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was a banquet waitress for 26 years at the Maytag Hotel. She was a charter member of First Assembly of God in Newton and Jasper County Senior Citizens Center.

Mrs. Simons Judy is survived by her daughter, Esther De Hamer of Urbandale; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; one son Paul; one son-in-law, Marion De Hamer; and one step-daughter, Vivian.
