DES MOINES — Shirley Ann White, 73, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton, died Saturday, April 8, 2006 at CLC in Altoona.

A funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in the Veterans' Section.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The daughter of Clyde and Lillie Patterson, she was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Newton. On Jan. 5, 1951, she married Joe H. White. She did clerical work for many years.

She is survived by four sons, Denny of Des Moines, Gary of Arizona, and Randy and Scott, both of Des Moines; a daughter Michelle "Shelly" White of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Belcher of Des Moines and Wanda Larsen of Oregon; two brothers, Lynn Patterson of Laurel and Paul Patterson of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Warren "Kelly" White.
