Roberta S. White, 75, of Newton died Monday, March 20, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Delores Versteegh of Community of Christ Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will be present from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to USA Healthcare Activity Fund and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Coy M. and Audna F. Lewis Shelton, she was born March 12, 1931, in Newton. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1950 and attended AIB. On Sept. 1, 1961, she married Robert W. White in Newton.

Mrs. White was a maintenance clerk at the Maytag Company for 30 years and retired in 1981. She was a lifelong resident of Newton, a member of Skiff Medical Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and animals, especially dogs and horses.

Survivors include a sister, Cleo Onstank of Newton; two nieces, Betty (Almar) Coulthard and Karen (Gerald) Vande Kamp; and a nephew, Michael Onstank.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Mildred Markman.
