DES MOINES — Sharon Kay Norris, 66, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton, died Monday March 6, 2006, from complications of leukemia.

A funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Southtown Funeral Home in Des Moines with burial following at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society of America.

She attended Lincoln High School and in 1970 earned a nursing degree from Des Moines School of Nursing . She worked as an LPN and a health care administrator. On May 6, 1956, she married Thomas Norris. She was a former resident of Newton.

She is survived by her husband; her children, Tom (Karen), Steven (Kristi); her son-in-law; Anthony Formaro; six grandchildren; and a brother, John Dowell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Suzanne R. Formaro.
