DES MOINES — John Oliver Malmanger, 64, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton, died March 14, 2006, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.

A funeral service was March 17 at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona and Burial was at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Mosaic Group Home.

He previously lived in Progress Group Home in Newton, participating in the Progress Industries work program. He was a resident of one of the Mosaic group homes in Des Moines. He was a former member of Central Lutheran Church and a current member of Lutheran Church of the Cross.

Mr. Malmanger is survived by his sisters, Carin (John) Allhiser of Wisconsin and Eileen (Jim) Faux of Mingo; three nephews; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
