MITCHELLVILLE — Myron Leroy Faidley, 89, formerly of Colfax, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, with burial following at the Colfax Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Mitchell Village Care Center or Colfax Senior Citizen Center.

The son of Sanford and Edith Longren Faidley, he was born April 24, 1916, in Colfax. He graduated from Colfax High School and then went on to graduate from barber college. On July 2, 1950, he married Pauline Weiser at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grimes. He was a World War II veteran and received five Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

Survivors include three children, Brian (Linda) Faidley and Bruce (Diana) Faidley, all of Colfax, and Marsha (David) Hegland of McCallsburg; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Marjorie Maxwell of Collins, Marvel (Bob) Baxter of Boise, Idaho, Kenneth Faidley of Austin, Texas, and Ramon (Phyllis) Faidley of Colfax.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three brothers, Darrell Faidley, Lloyd Faidley, and Loren Faidley.
