Lois J. Duncan, 80, of Newton died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at her home in Park Centre.

A funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Gary Marzolf of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to Alzheimer's Association and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Don and Hattie Scheerer Price, she was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Jefferson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1943. She also attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She grew up and lived in Jefferson until moving to Newton in 1955. On April 6, 1947, she married Dean E. Duncan in Jefferson. She worked for Maytag Company for more than 23 years and retired in 1988 as a supervisor of central records department.

Mrs. Duncan was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Scottish Highlander at the University of Iowa in 1944. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She enjoyed dancing and was active in the community.

Survivors include three sons, Mark (Kathy) Duncan of Marlton, N.J., Bruce (Pam) Duncan of Clinton Township, Mich., and Denny (Lisa) Duncan of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Debbie (Andy) Wignall of Ankeny and Tracy (Mike) Hickey of Ft. Collins, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Del Price of Bradenton, Fla.; and a sister, Alice Noblish of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five sisters.
