Hazel (Egy) Case, 92, of Newton died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Winterset Cemetery in Winterset. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Jasper County or Rock Creek Ikettes.

The daughter of David Egy and Mertie Rehard, she was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Winterset. She graduated from high school in Winterset. On March 11, 1935, she married Lowell "Casey" Case at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She worked for Maytag Company in the paint room and retired in 1973 after more than 30 years. She attended First Christian Church, was a past member of UAW Local 997 and a charter member of Rock Creek Ikettes. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, puzzles, reading and magazines.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Maxine Egy of Winterset and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and seven brothers.
