PELLA — Susie Boot, 100, of Pella, formerly of Sully, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Pella Comfort House in Pella.

A funeral service was held Saturday at First Reformed Church in Pella. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella handled arrangements.

Memorials may be given to Susie Boot Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Jacob and Nellie (Vos) Zwank, she was born Jan. 16, 1906, in rural Pella. She grew up on her family's farm south of Sully, and then later on a farm west of Galesburg. In March 1942, they moved to Pella. She attended Sandridge rural school. On Dec. 24, 1929, she married Armour Boot at Pella First Reformed Church.

Mrs. Boot was a member of Pella First Reformed Church and later became active in Bethany Reformed church in rural Sully. She was a member of Bethany Willing Workers, a mission-oriented group. She did general cleaning for Wilson Jewelry for many years and retired when she was 97. She enjoyed attending political functions with her husband, who served as a city councilman and later, as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives.

She is survived by her daughter, Nola Vander Streek of Pella; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Bennie, Herman and Peter J. Zwank; four sisters, Annie (who died in infancy), Johanna, Hattie Vos and Nettie Geurts; and a son-in-law, Lloyd Vander Streek.
