Craig D. Bellamy, 90, of Newton died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Newton with the Rev. Stephen Mathison-Bowie officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Visitation is planned following the memorial service with a luncheon at the church at 11:45 a.m. Monday. Memorials will be accepted in his name, to American Diabetes Association or the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center.

The son of David and Ida Irelan Bellamy, he was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Stratton, Neb. He graduated from senior high school in 1932 in Republic, Kan. On Oct. 26, 1938, he married Cleora Ross in Stratton, Neb. He was a route salesman for Debus/Metz Baking Company in Hastings, Neb., for 33 years. He retired in 1983. He also worked in maintenance for the state college in Kearney, Neb., for five years and for Kearney Public Schools for three years.

Mr. Bellamy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a petty officer second class machinist. He was a member of Elks Club, American Legion for 41 years, was vice commander of the Legion, BOW, Good Sams RV Club, and a member of United Methodist Church in Kearney. He enjoyed music, dancing and traveling with his wife, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife of Newton; two sons, Rodney (Marlene) Bellamy of Spring, Texas, and Charles Bellamy of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Barbara (Lenny) Woythaler of Newton; a daughter-in-law, Monica Bellamy of Everett, Wash.; six grandchildren; a brother, Robert "Bob" (Patricia) Belamy of Max, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
