Dean L. Stielow

COLFAX -- Dean L. Stielow, 61, a resident of Colfax since 1976, died Wednesday, June 21, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax.

The Rev. John Mc Kinstry, pastor of the church, will conduct services.
Memorial to Mercy Hospital Medical Center cardiac rehabilitation program or Muscular Dystrophy Association of Iowa may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

Survivors are his wife, Geraldine; six sons, Ted. E. of Mitchellville, Robert of Colfax, James and Daniel, both of Des Moines, Michael of Kansas City, Mo., and Paul of Colfax; and nine grandchildren.

Also surviving are his mother, Verna Stielow of Prairie City; a sister, Marilyn Knop of Des Moines; and three brothers, Donald of Grafton, Wis., Kenneth of Des Moines and Gary of Mountain View, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Stielow, an employee of Iowa Power for 38 years, was a regional supervisor at the time of his retirement in 1985.

The son of Theodore and Verna Oldenburg Stielow, he was born June 27, 1927 in Eldora and was graduated from Des Moines East High School.

He was married to Geraldine Marxer Sept. 28, 1948 in Des Moines.

Mr. Stielow, who had resided in Des Moines prior to coming to Colfax, had served in the Army during World War II.
