Frances D. Campbell Shanks, 79, of New Jersey, a former resident of Newton, died Thursday, May 25, in New Jersey.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Newton.

The Rev. F. F. Kramer, pastor or the church, will conduct services.

Survivors are two daughters, Barbara (Mrs. William) Ellis of Florham Park, N.J., and Susan P. Shanks OF Santa Cruz, Calif.; a brother, George C. Campbell and two sisters, Charolette (Mrs. George) Fries and Barbara (Mrs. E. W.) Evans, all of Dixon, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, a brother and a sister.

Mrs. Shanks, who had taught classical dance in Dixon, Ill., was a member of the PEO and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

The daughter of George H. and Fredricka Howard Campbell, she was born Aug 23, 1909, in Englewood, Ill. She attended the University of Illinois where she was affiliated with Kappa Alpha Delta Sorority.

*Note: Mrs. Shanks was cremated.
