Wilma “Jerry” Simpson, 67, of 501 W. 8th St. N., died Wednesday evening, April 12, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Wallace-Pence Funeral Home is handling arrangements which have not been completed.

Jerry W. Simpson
Funeral services for Jerry W. Simpson, Simpson, 67, of 501 W. 8th St. N., a lifelong resident of Newton, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Paul Sandgren, pastor of First Assembly of God, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions to the American Lung Association will be accepted.
She died Wednesday evening at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are two sisters, Lois (Mrs. Cornelius) Messamaker and Florence Van Der Leest, both of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Isaac, in 1981.
Miss Simpson, a member of First Assembly of God, had worked in automatic assembly at the Maytag Co.
The daughter of Ernest and Winnie Luddington Simpson, she was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Union County, and was a 1940 graduate of Newton Community High School.
