Cooney Salsberry

Cooney Salsberry, 90, of 402 W. 4 ½ St. S., a resident of Newton for 40 years, died this morning, April 14, at the Embassy Manor Care Center.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Newton Union Cemetery.

The Rev. Kenneth Wallace, pastor of the Congregational United Churches of Christ of Newburg and Chester, will conduct services.

Memorial contributions in his name will be accepted.

Survivors are a son, Harold of Newton; three grandchildren and a sister, Delpha Doolan of Hannibal, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Roxie, in 1976, a daughter in infancy and eight brothers and sisters.

Mr. Salsberry, who has been making his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Linda Salsberry, for the past eight years, was a retired Parsons Co. employee.

He was born Oct. 17, 1989 in Boynton, Mo.

He was married to Mary Roxie Jane Vaughn Oct. 25, 1929 in Milan, Mo.
