E. Ann Wittel

E. Ann Burns Wittel, 91, of 622 W. 4th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1925, died of complications of pneumonia Saturday morning, July 22, at Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

The Rev. E. William Kaska, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Catholic Cemetery in Marshalltown.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held following rosary.

Survivors are a husband, Charles W. of Newton; and a sister, Margaret Buchwald of Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Wittel, an employee of Newton Manufacturing Co. for many years, was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Society and Royal Neighbors.

The daughter of John and Julia Mae Borton Burns, she was born April 9, 1898 in State Center and was graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Marshalltown.

She was married to Charles W. Wittel Aug. 28, 1925 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton.
