PELLA -- Nellie Duinink Vander Werff, 94, a resident of Pella since moving from Jasper County in 1982, died Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Pella Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Reformed Church in Sully.

The Rev. Daniel Hakken, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Friends may call at Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home Tuesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions to the Sully First Reformed Church will be accepted.

Survivors are five sons, John of Newton, Dick of Sully, Lawrence of Reasnor, Marion of Indianola and Gary of Des Moines; a daughter, Dorothy M. Barrale of St. Louis, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Lena Mol, Elizabeth Van Vark and Clara Van Haaften, all of Pella, and Jeanetta Van Heukelom of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1953, sister, Maggie Vander Leest and three brothers, Arnold, John and Leonard Duinink.

Mrs. Vander Werff, a member of the First Reformed Church of Sully, was a homemaker and had been employed in the Lynnville-Sully School System for 10 years.

The daughter of Dirk and Mary Monster Duinink, she was born Aug. 23, 1895 in Galesburg and was educated in Killduff and Sully area schools.

She was married to Gerritt Vander Werff Dec. 17, 1914 in Reasnor and they made their home in the Lynnville-Sully communities.
