E. Darleen Mc Isaac Vescio, 81, of 739 S. 5th Ave. E., Apt. 1, a resident of Newton since 1948, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 21, at Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Reese Funeral Home.

The Rev. David Raymond, pastor of the Congregational United Church of Christ, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Memorial contributions to the Skiff Medical Center Auxiliary may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are two daughters, Marilyn Kleist of Minneapolis, Minn., and Cynthia Tool or rural Monroe; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Everett Jones in 1963 and Mellia Vescio in 1972, and a sister.

Mrs. Vescio was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, White Shrine, Jasper County Senior Citizens and RSVP.

She had taught country school near Rockwell City, had operated a nursery school in Spencer during World War II, had operated a nursery school in Newton until 1963 and had worked in the Annie Wittemeier Children’s Home in Davenport until retiring in 1974.

The daughter of A. W. and Maude Mc Isaac, she was born March 2, 1908 in Yetter.

She was married to Everett S. Jones June 22, 1926 in Rockwell City and to Mellia Vescio in 1967.
