PELLA -- Catherine Geurts Vos, 90, of Pella, a former resident of the Sandridge Community in Jasper County, died Saturday, April 8, at Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Third Reformed Church in Pella.

Dr. Delmar D. Thiesse, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Friends may call at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions to the church will be accepted.

Survivors are a daughter, Leona J. (Mrs. James T.) Cobb of Gilbert; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, Nov, 1970, parents, two sisters, Marie in infancy and Elizabeth (Mrs. Herman) Vander Pol; and four brothers, Walter, Marinus, John and Floris Geurts.

Mrs. Vos had been a clerk at Black’s Style Shop and Mode Huis in Pella.

She had been a member of the Third Reformed Church of Pella and the American Legion Auxiliary.

The daughter of John D. and Katherine Van Suilichem Geurts, she was born Jan. 4, 1899 in The Netherlands and attended grade school in The Netherlands prior to coming to the United States in 1910 with her parents, who settled near Sully.

She was married to Ed Vos Jan. 15, 1920 in Pella.

They farmed in the Sandridge community until moving to Pella in 1927.
