Gradus Vande Lune

PRAIRIE CITY -- Funeral services for Gradus Vande Lune, 88, of Clearview Manor in Prairie City, a former owner and operator of a garage and implement business, were held today, March 20, at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church.

The Rev. Thomas Wetselaar, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Memorial contributions to the Christian Reformed Church organ fund will be accepted.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.

He died Saturday at the Clearview Manor in Prairie City.

Survivors are three sons, Marvin of West Des Moines and Doyle and Gene, both of Prairie City; a daughter, Vivian (Mrs. Wayne) Van Wyndgarden of Perry; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, John of Des Moines, Wilbert of Prairie City and Paul of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and two sisters, Grace Van Dusseldorp of Oskaloosa and Elma Steenhoek of Prairie City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Vande Lune was a member and deacon of the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church and a former member of the Prairie City School Board.

The son of Auke and Dena Hollander Vande Lune, he was born July 12, 1900 in Pella.

He was married to Henrietta Steenhoek Feb. 14, 1924 at Prairie City.
