Frances E. Talbot

Frances E. Keith Talbot, 57, of 1005 N. 4th Ave. E., a resident of Newton for 40 years, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of complications following abdominal surgery.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Capt. Daniel L. Hursh of the Newton Salvation Army will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday and family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband, Carroll F.; two sons, Randy and Jeff, both of Newton; a daughter, Shirley (Mrs. Marion) Collins of Newton; and two grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, V. James Keith of Newton, K. Glenn Keith of Gordon, Texas, and A. Eugene Keith of Des Moines and four sisters, Ruth (Mrs. Calvin) Logue, Grace (Mrs. Dean) Hawkins, Elizabeth (Mrs. Polly) Sanders, all of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Barbara Sue in 1976 and Brenda Lee in infancy, a brother, Henry F. Keith in 1948, and a sister, Betty (Mrs. Joe) Gomez.

Mrs. Talbot was active in the Salvation Army Home League and the Busy Bee Diet Club and did other community volunteer work.

The daughter of James M. and Adella I. Miller Keith, she was born Nov. 2, 1931 at Melcher and attended Melcher, Dallas, Knoxville and Newton schools.

She was married to Carroll F. Talbot March 6, 1951 in Knoxville.
